The Happenings of Now

I had a pretty kick back weekend. Hung out with girls from work... Carena, Rosa, and Carey. We attempted (key word attempted) to go roller skating. Holy hell, it was so much easier when I was twelve! It was pretty funny. I got my nails filled and my toes done and just hung out.

I got eyelash extensions! So far I am loving them. It was so nice not to have to put on mascara this morning. My eyes are a little irritated and red but I'm told that will go away. What do you think?

I'm Back!!!

It's been over a year since my last post. I've learned some new tricks and plan on blogging more often. I'm not sure anyone will even look at it because my life isn't that exciting! But I enjoy sharing things with my friends and family and like being able to look back on all of my previous posts. Not much is going on in my life right now. I am just working a lot. I am currently working at iTOK. iTOK is a computer technical support company and I am working in customer service. It can be pretty stressful at times (dealing with irate customers) but I overall I am enjoying working there.

Here are a few things that I am excited about right now:

I can't stop listening to this song. It came on while I was listening to Pandora at work and I just keep listening to it over and over. Loooooove it.

I can't even wait for this movie. Katie and I went to Young Adult (which is a great movie by the way.... so funny) and saw this preview. It gives me the chills! And I love that the preview has a Taylor Swift song. My dad told me only 14 year olds and me like Taylor Swift... ha ha oh well I don't care. I love her. Here it is:

The final season of One Tree Hill starts next week. This is another one that I'm a little embarrassed to admit to. But it's been going for so long... I can't stop watching! And Lucas is coming back for an episode this season which is awesome.

Bear Lake 2010...

It has been a tradition since before I was born for my family to go to Bear Lake every summer. My Grandpa and Grandma Argyle are from Randolph, which is near Bear Lake. In the past, most of my mom's side would come but the numbers have been getting smaller over the years. The last few years my family and my Aunt Sherrie's family has been going together and keeping the tradition alive. We stay in condos at Ideal Beach. The condos are right on the lake and there is lots to do. There's a pool and a hot tub, mini golf, tennis, lots of grass for badminton, volleyball, frisbee, etc. It is in such a cute, small town. My new favorite thing besides the raspberry shakes are the chocolate covered raspberries from the chocolate store. They are outrageously good!! I have so many childhood memories there and I absolutely love going every year. It is so beautiful, simple, and relaxing.

We got there Friday afternoon. Mike and Whit came Saturday morning and Jordan came Saturday night after work. Every year I forget how easy it is to get sunburned there! I was out on the boat for 1-2 hours and came back completely fried. In the past we've had a boat, but the last few years we haven't. A boat definitely makes it more exciting. Mike was able to bring his bosses boat. We had lots of fun tubing and wakeboarding on Saturday but unfortunately on Sunday the boat had some electrical problems and we weren't able to use it. It was a bummer but oh well. We still had lots and lots of fun!

I've decided that I'm going to start doing this at every beach that I go to!

This is the newest member of the family... Scout. He is Whitney and Mike's little puppy. He was too little to leave at home so they brought him with them. He is so tiny and funny and provided us with lots of entertainment.

Mama Di's Birthday Bash

Today was my Mama Di's birthday. I think she had a good one so that made me happy. Ever since we were young, and to this day, my Mom has always decorated the house for each of our birthday's. Well last night I woke up at about 3 and couldn't go back to sleep. So I decided to decorate the house for her! We ordered her a sweet necklace from The Vintage Pearl last night so hopefully she loves it! She went to lunch at Olive Garden with her sisters and then tonight we went to eat at Pizza Factory and bowling at the new Jack and Jill's in Lehi. We had so much fun and it was great to spend time with family. I love you so much Mom and I am so grateful for all you do. You're my best friend and you are always there for me no matter what. I hope you had a good day.

Updates on Us

I finished up all my Spring class finally and it feels awesome. I do have to start my Summer class on Wednesday, but the good news is, they will be done by June 23. And then all that's left is graduation! Yes!! I started my new job approximately 2 weeks ago. The company that I work for is called Research Solutions. They have set up relationships with dental offices all over the United States. I am a team of approximately ten girls who call the lists of patients that have come into these offices at some point. We contact them to try and make appointments with them in order to keep them coming back. It is a really relaxed job and I can do pretty much whatever I want in between calls... homework, Facebook, blogging, watching videos, etc. I like the people that I work with and really like it so far. Also, I just wanted to mention that Megan continues to heal and remind me, and I'm sure everyone else, of God's hand in our lives. The experience brought me so much closer to her and has really opened my eyes. I love Meg so much and am so grateful to have her as a best friend. Jord still really likes his job at T-Mobile and is doing very well with it. He tries to stay on top of his school work as much as he can. : ) That last stretch without a job was quite the blow so at this point we are just trying to get back on top of things as much as possible.

Jason Aldean Concert

Jordan and I went to the Jason Aldean concert on Friday night. I gave Jord the tickets for Valentine's Day. Usually we don't get too crazy at concerts. We just laugh at all the old crazy drunk people. But everyone around us probably thought we were the crazy drunk people ha ha. He even played a couple of Bryan Adams songs... I love Bryan Adams! Jord lost his voice from screaming so much. After the concert was over and the lights came on they were playing One Love by Bob Marley. We sat there and danced to Bob while everyone was leaving ha. It was so much fun!

"Megan has been doing so well this past week, so on Thursday she was able to come home from the hospital. She is happy to be in a familiar and comfortable home. Megan will continue to go back for outpatient rehab 3 times a week. She has been so strong throughout this whole experience. We are so grateful for the progress she has made up to this point and know that she will only continue to make progress. We love our amazing Megan! "

Best Friend Promise

Not being able to see Megan for the past few days has been extremely rough on me. I completely understand and respect this rule. If not seeing her right now is going to help her get better, then so be it, because I want nothing else but for her to continue progressing. I just want her to come out of this on top; so happy and strong, because she deserves it. She deserves the very best there is. Me being a worrier, I constantly wonder how she is doing; trying to think of something that I can do to help her. Right now, I can’t give her my support by physically being there. I can’t sit next to her bed and hold her hand and tell her that we are going to get through this together. It makes you feel pretty helpless. But what I can do is continue to pray to my Father in Heaven that he will watch over and heal my best friend and my Sister, Megan. We have been best friends since we were 9 years old (and probably even before we came to this earth). We have made a lifetime of memories together. A long time ago, when Megan and I were pretty young, we were laying on the tramp at my house during a summer day. We decided to write a “Best Friend Promise”. It was basically a list of things that we promised to do together throughout our lives. So we wrote it all out with pencil and paper and then typed it later. Megan's mom has a copy of this somewhere and I’d really like to get it from her soon, but I’m just going to have to use my memory for now. Again, keep in mind that we were pretty young so some of these were pretty silly and unfortunately didn’t actually happen. But some did! We promised that we would go to beauty school together… She made it on that one but I decided to pursue a different route. We promised that we would get married and live close to one another and have kids that were the same ages so that they could be best friends (still could happen). We said we would get matching big white fluffy cats (don’t ask me where that one came from ha, not gonna happen). We said we would invest in a boat that we could share between our families and spend a lot of time at Bear Lake and Lake Powell (I would love love love it if this happened. It would be my dream come true). We promised that we would be best friends until we were old and gray (I think geezers may have been the word that was used) and that we would die by each other’s side. At that point, I don’t think we realized that if anyone was going to die by our sides it would be our husbands. ; )

I think over the next little while, I’m going to try and blog about some of our old memories. It’s almost like therapy for me and I would like to have them documented.

I know it sounds silly, but every little thing reminds me of her and makes me miss her. Songs, or candies, or a movie she left at my house, clothes she left at my house, pictures. It might sound clichéd, but I really honestly do just miss my best friend. As I’m sure Dana misses her daughter. And Shawnee misses her older sister. And Dayton misses his mommy. We all miss our Megs!!

Jobi's Baby Shower

I went to Jobi's baby shower on Saturday. We all went in on a car seat for her. She got lots of cute stuff for Baby Oakley! It was fun to see all my friends too! It had been a while. It does make me just the slightest bit depressed that most of my friends have kids already and Jordan and I haven't even gotten around to getting married yet. But we will get there! It won't be long now...We love you so much Jobes! You make the best mom ever to Jett and Bryton and you are going to have so much fun with Oakley. I can't wait to meet her!! We are going to spoil her rotten!!

A Sort of Update...

I'm sure a lot of you are hoping for on update on Megs. She continues to struggle with her memory loss and the last time I saw her she seemed to be pretty down. It is really causing her a lot of frustration. The more people she sees, and the more people that are talking to her and asking questions, the more frustrated she gets. So her doctors and family have asked that Hayley and I hold off on coming to visit her for a few days. They have limited it strictly to her Mom, Jordon, and her brothers and sisters. So I wish I had some updates myself! I talked to Jordon for a bit last night and he said she is doing basically the same. I promise as soon as I hear something I will let you all know. One Week Update

It's been exactly one week since I first received the phone call informing us that Megan had been in a car accident. It is amazing how quickly things can change in life, and how quickly your prospectives can change.

These last two days have been kind of rough. Megan has really been struggling with her memory loss, and it's been causing her a lot of confusion and frustration. However, we have been assured that these things are normal with a head trauma. It is extremely hard to watch her struggle, but we know that there will be many more difficult days in the future, and all we can do is be there to love and support her. I think anyone's fear when they have a loved one with a traumatic head injury is that they will never be the same again. I read on a webpage today that all you can do is assume that one day they will recover and be the same. I think everyone around her has to have this mentality in order to help give her the motivation to progress and move forward.

Megan was moved out of the ICU today and into the rehabilitation center. They will now be working with her to try and regain her short term memory skills. Also, they will begin working with her to diagnose any other areas that may have been affected by the accident and start the process of recovering those areas. We know there are many people who would like to visit Megan, however the doctors have advised us that right now is not a good time for visitors as it may cause her additional stress and confusion.

Although there will be many struggles ahead, we know that our beautiful Megan is being watched over and for that we are very grateful.

And it's only been 6 days! She is so strong and continues to make progress everyday. We are so very grateful for that. I love my Megs!

Good News!!

I would just like to let everyone know that Megan has made tremendous progress today. She is all that I have thought about for the last few days, but my stress level has definitely decreased. We feel so blessed with her progress up to this point. We've been told that with a head trauma, the patient will usually take two steps forward and one step back. Up to this point Megan has only moved in the right direction, and we are very grateful for that. She still has a long road ahead of her, but it is great to see the progress she has made already. They did another CT scan last night and the results were the same as they have been which is great news; no additional bleeding or swelling of the brain. She had the breathing tube removed this morning and was definitely ready to have it out. I was told that when she woke up this morning she said to the nurses, "Is Meghan here?" The nurses said to her, "No your name is Megan." They were thinking she was just a little confused. I guess they told her family about this and they told the nurses that she has a best friend named Meghan as well. When I heard this I can't tell you how happy it made me. It brought me to tears. I just love her so much! Hayley and I were able to go see her today thankfully. She has been waking up periodically throughout the day and has been more alert when she does. She has also been talking which is amazing! Due to the soreness of her throat (from the breathing tube) it is just a whisper. We got to sit with her and talk with her and this was such a comfort to me. She is still obviously a bit confused, probably due to the trauma and morphine. The lacerations on her head looked much better today and looked like they were healing well. She was also able to get up out of bed and take a walk down the hall with the help of the physical therapists. She was honestly amazing. She was ready to get right up and give it everything she had. The nurses had to slow her down so that they could get all of her tubes unhooked. We are still unsure how her head injuries will affect her, but at this point everyone is feeling very positive and grateful for her incredible progress. We are not sure how much longer she will be in the ICU, but I don’t think it will be more than a few days. She is slowly showing more and more personality and getting back to the Megan that we all know and love. She was very gracious to her nurses. Whenever they would help her with anything she would say thank you, even though you could tell she was hurting. I told her that there are many people that love her and are praying for her recovery. When I said this she said, “Like who?” I thought this was very sweet and funny. I don’t think she realizes at this point what she has been through! She is going to have a long road back. But I think we are all just glad that she is alive and that Dayton is safe and I know she will feel the same. I just want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for their support and prayers thus far - for Megan and for me. All of your comments have given me comfort and strength. I truly believe that she would not be progressing so quickly without the prayers from each and every one of you. Thank you!!

Update on Megs

I know there are so many people that are praying for Megan's recovery and want to do whatever they can to help. I have received many phone calls, text messages, and comments from people that love her and care about her. When I have gone to see her I have tried my best to communicate this to her so she knows that so many people are rooting for her. As I'm sure you can imagine, the medical bills are going to be horrendous. She was life-flighted, she will be spending at least a week if not more in the ICU, having multiple surgeries, rehabilitation, etc. The financial stress is going to be extremely overwhelming for Megan and her family. Hayley and I, and some other friends, would like to try and help relieve this as much as possible. We opened an account today at America First Credit Union. It is called the Megan Smith Hansen Charitable Account. You can make a donation at any America First branch. Any donations would be tremendously appreciated by Megan and all of her loved ones.

Megan has made some considerable progress today. She has been opening her eyes and looking directly at her family members. She has been listening to commands and responding by nodding her head and squeezing the hands of her family. She will be having surgery on her left wrist tomorrow morning and after that they plan on taking her off of the ventilator. I think tomorrow should be a big day and we should hopefully receive some answers on the extent of her brain injuries. Her mom, Dana, will also be arriving from the Marshall Islands where she and Brad are serving a mission. I think it will help Megan a lot to have her mom there and will hopefully aid in her progress.

My best friend Megan was in a car accident on Wednesday night. The accident was at about 1600 N on I-15 northbound at about 8pm. She was headed to her sister’s house. From what I understand, she drifted to the right then over-corrected. At this point we are not sure what caused her to drift over to the right. The car rolled 4-7 times and then hit the cement barrier. Her little baby boy, Dayton, was in the car with her. He is 17 months old. By the grace of God, Dayton came away without a scratch. The car was completely smashed accept for the small area where Dayton was sitting. When the highway patrolman arrived on the scene, Dayton was just sitting in the car patiently, not even crying. Megan on the other hand, was not so lucky. She was life-flighted to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center and is currently in the ICU. Her most serious injury was a fractured skull and some hemorrhaging (bleeding) of the brain. They will be keeping her sedated over the next few days to make sure there is no additional swelling of the brain. She also has some broken bones in her hand, wrists, a few fractures in her face, and some lacerations on her forehead and scalp. She does have some nerve damage in her face but we don’t know at this point how much this will affect her. I know there are a lot of you that would like to receive updates on her condition. Megan and I have been best friends since about 3^rd grade. I can still remember the day that I met her. I remember the day on the monkey bars when we decided to be friends. And ever since that day, we have been by each other’s side through everything that life has brought us. No matter what has come between us over the years, we always got through it and continued to be friends. I was staying with Megan and Dayton over the last few days and we were spending a lot of time together. We grew closer during this time and it has made what happened especially difficult for me. I was with her just hours before her accident. She even asked if I wanted to go with her. If Jordan hadn’t of gotten off work early I probably would have gone with her. My mind just races with ways that I could have prevented this from happening.

I went to the ER last night to see her and again tonight in the ICU. It is only supposed to be immediate family in the ICU, but I broke the rules. Kelsey came with me to see her. We went in and I immediately lost it. I haven’t stopped crying for 24 hours. For some reason seeing her affected me a lot more tonight than it did last night. Her nurse said it looks a lot worse than it actually is; because honestly… it is shocking. It is so hard to see someone that you love like that and I don’t think you can ever prepare yourself for it. The nurse also said that with the extent of her injuries she is doing very well. When I see her lying in that hospital bed, it breaks my heart that I was just with her. She was laughing with me and goofing around and now she’s laying there broken and suffering. Life is so fragile. It can change forever in a second. They had all of the bandages off of her head, so that was tough to see. She has lacerations that go from her forehead back into her scalp. They have her on life support now, but the nurse said they will probably take her off tomorrow when she is done with a surgery on her wrist. Kelsey and I were talking to her. She was moving around quite a bit and you could tell she was uncomfortable with the tube in her throat. Kelsey asked her if she could hear us and she nodded a very clear yes. I can’t explain how happy I was. Obviously it’s a great sign that her brain is ok, but it felt good to know that I could let her know how much I love her. I needed her to know that Dayton was not hurt and that he needs his mommy to be strong and pull through this. The picture of her lying in that hospital bed just keeps popping in my head. I miss her so much already. I know our Heavenly Father will watch over and take care of her and I just have to put my faith in him right now. Please please please pray for her!

Holidays

We had a wonderful Christmas and New Years. For New Years, Jordan and I went to St. George and stayed with his brother Jon who lives there. We went to some Indian ruins one day and I posted some pictures below from it. We had a great time spending time with his family. Jon has a really nice movie room with a projector and we spent a lot of time playing the Wii. Jon had just bought the new Super Mario game and Jordan and I spent the ENTIRE day on Sunday playing that stupid game! It was really fun but so addicting. We nearly had the game beat, but had to leave so we could get home at a decent hour. Thanks Jon and Celeste for letting us come visit! We had lots of fun with all of you.

It was back to school yesterday. : ( Jordan and I were so depressed on our way home from St. George. It sucks going back to work and school after Christmas break but oh well... I guess that's life. I am extremely burned out with school but it won't be too much longer. I can do it!

I found a new job thank goodness. I think it's going to work out pretty well and it will be a great opportunity for me so I'm really excited. The company that I work for is called Health Behavior Innovations. Different companies throughout the US hire us to provide health programs for their employees. We go in and do health assessments for the employees and that is what I will be doing. We take their blood pressure, test their blood for cholesterol readings, test their BMI, etc. Then if they follow our health program, they are given an incentive on their health insurance. I will be doing a little bit of traveling but not much. I have been desperately searching for a job in the health field because I really need the experience and I can also count it for my internship hours. I had training and orientation all day yesterday and today so next week I will be starting the assessments. It seems to be a pretty fast growing company and I think I will really enjoy working for them!

He is such a sweetheart for coming with me. I think he may have even liked it a little? :) I wasn't going to post anything about it because it is sooooo hyped up. I'm sure there are a million other girls out there doing the very same thing right now. But I just had to say a little something since I am just bursting with excitement! I know I know I sound like every other female on the face of this planet... but oh well! There's a reason why it's so popular I guess... In my opinion it is just an amazing story and I love it. So there. I think the thing that made the movie so good for me was the piano music in it. It added so much emotion to the storyline. I was even crying at a few parts. It was pathetic! Anyways, I loved it and I can't wait for Eclipse. I think these movies will just keep getting better!

Well apparently I wasn't selling enough cars at Doug Smith Autoplex. So because of this, I am currently looking for a job... we all love that right?! Frank Smith is still trying to find something there for me to do that will work with my schedule but we will see. It really has been a bit a relief because the hours working in sales were awful... and let's just face it: I am not a car salesman! If I end up leaving I will miss a lot of my co-workers and will have to stop in from time to time. Thank you for all that good times that we had together. I worked there for almost 3 years! So, if anyone has any ideas for what I could do now please let me know. I really don't care what type of work it is as long as it pays decent and it's in Utah County or southern Salt Lake County area. Next semester is my last semester of school so it also will need to work around that. Something in the health field would be great because then those hours can count as my internship hours as well, but it's not a must. Thanks so much!!

On Friday we drove to Malibu and Santa Monica. I have always wanted to go to Malibu. It had nice beaches but there really wasn't much to do there... I guess that's why all the Celebrities like to live there. Santa Monica had a fun pier and shopping area. It was a pretty cool little town. My Dad, Jordan and Tanner even got in the water. It was pretty cold but nice for October.

Universal Studios

On Thursday we went to Universal Studios. It had been probably 6 years since I had gone to Universal and they had a lot more fun stuff. I really liked it. The park closed at 5 and they re-opened at 7 till 1 for their Halloween Horror Nights. It was really scary! I love going to haunted houses and usually don't get too freaked out. But it's a little overwhelming there to say the least ha. You walk in and there are guys everywhere and they are relentless. One of the chainsaw guys snuck up on me and put the chainsaw right behind my neck and started it up. I freaked! My hair was blowing everywhere ha. I was really freaked out at first, but eventually loosened up and calmed down. They had four different mazes based on movies: My Bloody Valentine, Halloween, Saw, and Chuckie. They also have the tram take you down and drop you off and you have to walk back on a path that goes through different haunted areas. It was really fun to see all the different things that they come up with. If you're ever there at Halloween time this is a must see if you like haunted houses. But don't bring any kids! My 12 year old little brother was there and he did good but was really scared I think. But I don't blame him ha.

Disneyland

We got a 3-day Park Hopper and went to Disneyland on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday. It rained on Tuesday and Wednesday and then warmed up the rest of the week and was in the 80's and 90's. It wasn't too busy on Tuesday and Wednesday but it was PACKED on Saturday of course. I LOVE Disneyland. It makes me so so happy. Everything about it... the music, the smells, the fun little foods, the shops, everything... accept the lines and all the people of course : ). My family goes every 1-2 years. It wasn't exactly the most relaxing vacation... We were walking and standing all day everyday... Your feet just ache. But it is so worth it!

The Halloween festivities were so much fun. They had the cutest decorations and the characters were dressed in their Halloween costumes. They modified The Haunted Mansion so that it is decorated with The Nightmare Before Christmas theme. I liked it better than the regular one. Space Mountain was changed as well. They themed it "Ghost Galaxy". They played scary music and scary space ghosts chase you as your riding the roller coaster. It was really fun. It was the last ride we rode on Saturday night and the wait was 2 hours and 10 minutes. No joke. They also do "Halloween Scream Fireworks". It was the best firework show I have ever seen! I loved it. They play music and have the castle all lit up. It was so good.

On Saturday night we also had a reservation to Ariel's Grotto. It is a character dinner ha. You get your picture with Ariel and then Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and Belle come around to your tables and you can get pictures with them. It was fun even though we didn't have any little kids and the food was really good. The desserts were the best part!

Laguna Beach

We got back from California on Sunday! It was so much fun and I have tons of pictures. I think I'm going to put them in separate posts so there will be more to come. We got to California on Monday afternoon. We ate at Bubba Gump's and then drove to Laguna Beach. We walked around on the beach and in the shops. They had a really fun little candy shop with lots of older candy that you don't see anymore. Jordan and I love to go to candy stores!

The new Paramore album came out today! Yay! I have been looking forward to it for so so long. I got it and have listened to it a little bit... like anytime I get a chance to nonchalantly slip the earphone in my ear at work ha. So far it sounds amazing just like all of their other albums. Their lyrics and Hayley's voice never fail me... ahhhh I just love them.

Not much else is going on in our lives right now. We are both working and going to school full-time so we don't see a whole lot of each other. I just have to keep in mind that this is only temporary... Just a means to an end. I only have to stick out two more semesters and then I never have to buy another text book or step into that school or deal with awful teachers ever ever again! And maybe even someday, I'll be able to spend more time with Jordan. We are headed to California in about a week and a half... Hallelujah. We are going to Disneyland and Universal Studios and probably hitting up a few beaches if the weather is any good. I'm really excited because the parks will be all Halloweened out. It's gonna be so much fun! We definately need to get out of here and have some fun. I will take lots of pictures!

Last night Jordan and I went to the Keith Urban concert. We had really good seats actually! We were 8 rows up and right by the right side of the stage. We took lots of pictures and had such a good time. I go to Keith Urban pretty much every time he comes to Salt Lake. He is one of my very favorite artists and performers. Recently I went to Swiss Days with my Mom, Whitney, her sister in law Kristen, and one of her friends (I’m sorry I can’t remember her name! I think it’s Marin? Sorry….) We had to get up really early and there were so many people there. It gets really frustrating trying to push your way through all the crowds. But I would say it’s definitely worth it. It is so fun up there! I love to look at all of the cute booths and eat the yummy food. It has become quite the tradition in my family. I bought a hat from one of the booths. I also went to Gardner’s Village on Labor Day with my parents and Kenzy. We went through a few of the shops, mainly Pine Needles. It’ a little sewing and stitching shop and they had lots of cute stuff in there. They had a pattern for a way cute handbag, so it looks like I’ll be taking up sewing in all of my free time ha… if I ever get around to it. This is the one that I bought the pattern for:

The other thing I have been getting into is Scentsy! My cousin sells them so I have been trying out all the different scents. I have even tried mixing the flavors to make different ones…. kinda like Jelly Bellies… ha. She gave me a basket of samplers and some catalogues so if any of you have been wanting to see what all the hype is about… you’re welcome to come by a and check it out. They have this Jack-O-Lantern warmer for September and I want it so bad!

Utah vs. Utah State

Katie and I went to the Utah vs. Utah State Football game last week. I am so excited that Football Season is finally here! We had so much fun at the game. Jordan’s restaurant had a booth up there as well. I think it was a bit stressful, but overall it worked out well. Katie and I ended up parking our cars at her work and taking tracks to the stadium and back. Boy, was that an adventure. We are not very familiar with the public transportation system. We would get on one train and be worried that we were going to end up in Sandy or Ogden. The first train we got on was packed full of drunk sweaty Utah fans. We seriously had to push ourselves in and stand in the stairwell. We were trying to hold onto whatever railing was available and onto each other, but every stop, start, or turn it made, we would trip and fall all over the place. There were drunk guys standing near us; one was white and extremely drunk and dirty. His friend was Mexican and was so drunk that he could barely keep his eyes open. They were leaning on each other for support, almost hugging. The white guy just kept going off about how exciting the game was. When in reality, it was about the most boring game in history. He just kept talking and mumbling and there really wasn’t anyone in particular that he was talking to. At one point he said, “Nobody touch my friend,” and then kissed his little Mexican friend on the head. Katie and I were laughing hysterically and wondering how we always get ourselves into these situations. At almost all of the Utah games that Katie and I have gone to, I seem to attract a drunk, dirty man. Thanks for taking me Katrina Marie! I love you so.

Last Saturday, August 22nd, was my birthday. Yay! I worked most of the day, but got off a little early so I could go have some fun. And actually it was definately worth coming in to work because I sold a couple cars and made some much needed cash. So that was a fabulous birthday present in itself. Plus, I had one of my customers sing me the Happy Birthday primary song... you know the one: "This month is such a special one; It's birthday time for you..." He sang the whole thing! I was a little embarassed but it was really nice of him. He was a really quiet, older man so it caught me off guard a little. Anyways, I forced Jordan to go with my to The Time Travelers Wife. I had been wanting to see it for a long time. Jordan absolutely hates chick flicks.... I mean HATES them. The previews were for all these cheezy girly movies and I just kept looking at him and laughing because you should have seen his face... it was priceless! He just looked like he was in some serious pain. I rarely drag him along to these types of movies, but I figured it was my birthday, so I get to choose the movie right? So anyways, I don't want to ruin the movie for anyone else, but I have to admit it was a bit of a let down for me. I did shed a few tears and it is definately worth watching. But in my opinion, it's probably one that you should just wait and rent. After the movie we went to dinner with my family at Los Hermonos... kind of a boring choice I know. But for some reason, their fajitas are all that ever sound good to me! I crave them constantly. We had some cake and ice cream later on and I got some great gifts. My mommy gave me a Scentsy which I am really excited about. I have wanted one for the longest time! I have been looking at all the different scents online and I can't wait to try them all. All in all it was a pretty great birthday. Thanks to everyone for all the texts messages and birthday wishes!

Bear Lake

We went to Bear Lake over the July 24th weekend. My family has gone there every Summer since I was born and even long before that. My Grandparents actually met and grew up in Randolph, UT, which is a city not to far from Bear Lake. So you could definately say that it is an Argyle family tradition. I absolutely love going to Bear Lake. There is nothing I love more than when you drive out of the canyon and see that bright blue beautiful lake! We stayed in condos that are right on the lake. My Aunt Sherrie and Uncle Lyle and their family came as well. We were planning on having a boat there, but unfortunately it didn't work out. But we still had plenty of fun! We rented jet skiis one day, played some badminton, ate lots of good food, played some card games, sat in the hot tub, and played on the beach and got extremely sunburned! I'm pretty sure I just barely stopped peeling after weeks and weeks.

George Strait

Jord and I went to the George Strait concert last month. We went with some of his family. He has always wanted to see George in concert. And it's kinda funny because actually, we both bought each other tickets for Valentines Day! But it all worked out in the end. The concert was so much fun. It was at the USANA amphitheater and I have never seen so many people packed in there! I can't believe how many awesome songs he has. Jordan's favorite was Amarillo By Morning. Summer concerts are always a good time. We loved it!

Well, I had to work from 9 to 5 on the 4th. :( That was a big bummer, but oh well. Ya do what ya gotta do. I had to do it if I wanted the 24th off, which is a must, because we are going to Bear Lake. Yay! When I got off of work I went over to Jord's house for a BBQ with his fam. We hung out over there and played some badminton. Later on we met my fam at Thanksgiving Point to watch some fireworks and do some of our own. It was lots of fun!

The Sounds, Paramore, and No Doubt Concert

On Memorial Day, I went to The Sounds, Paramore, and No Doubt concert with Katie and Hayley. Paramore is my favorite band... I saw them at Warped Tour a few years ago and it was amazing and so much fun. I got to meet them and get my t-shirt signed. Ever since then I have been dying to see them again. I loved it! They are seriously so good, I love Hayley's voice. I went through this punk rock stage a while ago and I went to tons of concerts and was pretty hardcore ha. I love going to concerts. It is seriously such a release for me just to go and rock out. I have always liked No Doubt... I loved them in Junior High so it was fun to hear all of their older songs again. I just thought I would do a quick update of what has been going on in my life since I haven't posted anything in over a month! I have been crazy busy with school lately. I finally got done with midterms and then immediately started worrying and trying to get things in order for my internship that I have to do next year in order to graduate. UVU is offering one in their Wellness Center and if I get it, they will give me a full tuition scholarship. So I am really hoping to get that because not having to pay tuition for my last year of school would be huge! Besides school, I am also trying to find a new job, which is not fun at all. My boss, Brad Smith, will be leaving on his mission to the Marshall Islands in June, so I should have plenty of time to find one. Since I only have about a year left of school, I would really like to find something in the health field. That way I could get my foot in the door and get some experience behind me before graduating and beginning a career. So if anyone has any ideas, please let me know! Jordan's brother Nick is opening a new store here in American Fork. Jordan will be managing it so he has been working really hard to get it up and going. They are hoping to open next Monday March 30th. So everyone will have to go down and try a sandwich! They are really good. And I'm not just saying that because Jordan works there! : ) The store is right by Costco and the sign says DP Cheesesteaks. I was loving the warm weather... where did it go?? I need it back! I bought 3 pairs of flip flops due to my spring fever and now I can't even wear them because it's snowing! I really need a vacation. As long as it's warm, I wouldn't care where! I think that's probably all I have to say for now. I hope all is well with everyone! I love you!

Valentine's Day

Jordan and I had a really awesome Valentines Day.... for the most part! I worked for most of the day and he helped his brother Nick paint their new store. Jordan came to pick me up and had our night all planned out... which was great! Most of the time I really don't like making those decisions so that was really nice of him. His plan was to go eat at Macaroni Grill and then he bought tickets to the movie Taken. He showed up with flowers for me and I loved them. I took a picture of them and that was the only one I took the whole night unfortunately. I'm kinda bummed about it, but oh well. Before we left we gave each other our Valentine's. We both got each other the exact same thing... tickets to the George Strait concert in July! Ha ha. It was really funny. We ended up eating at Magelbys because the wait at Macaroni Grill was unreal. I swear no one takes reservations anymore! But apparently they do.... We had to wait a while at Magelbys too but the food was really good. While we were waiting to get in I got a phone call from my little sister. She had backed into Jordan's car in our driveway. That definately put a damper on things, but we still had a lot of fun together. Valentine's Day usually sucks for me... so thanks Jord for seriously the best Valentine's Day ever! We made it through with just a wrecked car! : )

I know it's a little early, but I just finished making this cute collage and I wanted to post it! I want Jordan to know that I love him so much and I am so grateful to have him in my life. He is my very best friend and can make me laugh like no one else. He is so smart and is seriously a very handy guy to have around. He can build a waterfall in the yard, frame a basement, and basically anything you ask him to do. He either already knows how, or will figure it out. This will definately come in handy when we get married. : ) I know that he loves me unconditionally. He knows my flaws and has seen me in my darkest hours and he still stands by my side. And most importantly, he makes me so happy. I love that I can't look at him, or hear his laugh, without smiling. I can be in a horrible mood and within minutes he's got me laughing and goofing around with him. Because of the timing and the way that Jordan and I ended up together, I know that our Father in Heaven had a hand in joining our lives. So anyways, Happy Valentine's Day Jord! I love you so very much!

Tanner's Birthday

Today was my brother Tanner's birthday. My family went to PF Chang's for dinner. Jord and Mike couldn't make it because they were working. Not that we don't love them, but it was kinda fun to go with just my Mom and Dad and the four of us kids. It has been a while! My sisters and I bought him the Sean White snowboarding game for his new Wii Fit! I even got to play it with Tanner for a little while tonight... I think I might try doing some Yoga occasionally. It seems like it would be more fun and easier to exercise when you can do it on the Wii.

There were three new albums that came out today that I am really excited about... Dierks Bentley, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, and The Fray. I put one by Dierks as my Song of the Day... it's awesome so take a listen!

LaS VeGaS!

We went to Las Vegas with Jord's family over the Martin Luther King Jr. Day weekend. I know I know it has taken me a bit to put together a post! We stayed in some condos at the south end of the strip. We have stayed there before and it's lots of fun! There is a hotel and casino called South Point right next door so we always go there to gamble and play bingo. We never win at bingo but it's still fun to play! We got to spend a little time in the hot tub which is pretty high on my list of things to do. We ate at lot of fun places... The Hard Rock Cafe, The Bellagio buffet, and the Treasure Island buffet... If you have never eaten at the Treasure Island buffet, I highly recommend it! They have the best desserts... I was in heaven! Ha ha... I'm not kidding though, I had the biggest smile. Jordan just shook his head at me because I ate a little bit of food and then got like 3 plates of desserts ha. We also walked around in a few cool hotels... The Winn, Planet Hollywood, and The Paris. The Winn was really detailed and pretty inside, I really liked it. In Planet Hollywood they have an area where they do a man-made rainstorm every hour or so. It is really cool... The sky gets dark and it rains from the cieling into a pond. The picture below where Jordan has his back to me.... you can kinda see the dark sky in the background. The picture of us with the big chinese man in the background is at The Bellagio. There were a few hotels that had decorated for the Chinese New Year. There's another picture of Jordan in front of some panda's that I thought were really cool! They look like they are made out of some type of flower. But anyways, that pretty sums up our trip I think. We had so much fun together and I think it was the perfect little get-away.

I just really like this song so I thought I would share the lyrics with everyone. I haven't posted anything in a while because I haven't really taken any pictures lately! But I thought I would just do a short one and tell everyone what is going on. I FINALLY finished my finals last Thursday morning. Oh it is always the biggest relief... especially the Fall semester because it's almost Christmas and you can just relax and have fun and not have to be constantly studying. Jordan finished his class last week too so it's nice that neither of us has to worry about school for a few weeks. It's going to be great! I just want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. I hope everyone is happy, healthy, and loving this wonderful season. I love you all!

On Thursday night, Hayley, Kenzy, and I went to a midnight showing of Twilight. To be honest, I really didn't think that it was going to be that great. But I was pleasantly surprised! I think they did a really great job. The movie really stuck to the book and almost all of the characters were what I imagined them to be. I seriously was so into the movie that at times I would snap out of it, look around and it would hit me where I was and what was happening! And that very rarley happens to me in movies... its great when it does. It is such a great love story! The movie also had great music. My favorite scene is when they play baseball because I love the song by Muse that is playing. I love the part when they are in the restaurant and Never Think by Rob Pattinson is playing. He said something really cute to her here and I can't remember what it is. But anyways, the movie is amazing. I am going to see it again on Thanksgiving and I can't wait!

On Saturday I went to the BYU vs. Utah game with Katie and Jake. Katie and I really wanted to wear something different since it was such a big game. So we went to the bookstore and bought some crazy wigs ha ha! It was a pretty boring game again... but I am so happy that they won! It's about time! I think that is the last time that we will ever sit in the MUSS. We freaking hate all the stupid drunk college kids. We have sat there for the past 2 years and it has never been as bad as it was this year. I apologize to any BYU fans that had to go anywhere near the MUSS... they are out of control! But I love my Utes and am so proud of their perfect season. GO UTES!

Last Saturday I went to the Utah vs. TCU game with Katie and Jake. It was a bit boring until about the last 3 minutes.... and then it was the most intense, exciting game ever! I am so glad that they pulled out the win! Now we just gotta get past BYU and that shouldn't be too tough. ; )

Tonight Jordan and I went to his family Halloween party at his Grandma's (Gommy's) house. I dressed up like an Indian and Jordan as a Cowboy. Jordan doesn't particularly love Halloween.... so he didn't really want to dress up very bad. But I love Halloween so I decided that we would have to dress up. I figured getting him to dress like a cowboy wouldn't be too hard of a task.... he loves cowboys. I’m so grateful that he gave in and dressed up with me when he didn't want to... he just did it to make me happy. And he did make me very happy.... He's such a good sport. He even found a silly mask to wear with his costume! The party was pretty fun. They had the party out in his Gommy's garage. She had it decorated really cute. We played some games and ate some dinner. It was fun to see everyone in their costumes, especially the little kids. I love Halloween!!

This is Jordan with his nephew Maverick. Mav was a horse and Jord was a Cowboy... cute huh? Jord just loves Mav.

On Saturday night Jord and I stayed at a condo at Snowbird with his family. It was a little crowded but it was really nice to have a little get away. We spent a lot of time in the hot tub! His mom blew up an air mattress for me to sleep on. Jordan layed down by me and ended up falling asleep with a cup of coke in his hand. When we woke up the next morning he had coke spilled all down the front of him. It was really funny. Here's a picture of us on the balcony with the pretty fall leaves in the background!

I went to the Utah vs. CSU game on Saturday with Katie, Jake, Spence, and Anna. We usually sit in the MUSS, but we have been a little annoyed lately with the people around us. So instead we sat in some empty seats. They were in the shade and it was so much more relaxed. It was a fun game... still undefeated. Here we come TCU and BYU!! GO UTES!

Baby Dayton is here!!

One of my best friends, Megan Smith Hansen, had her baby boy last Saturday morning at about 3 am. He weighed 6 lbs 7 oz and they named him Dayton Cole Hansen. Hayley and I went to see them on Saturday morning at the hospital. He was about a week and a half early so he is so tiny and precious. He inhaled some amniotic fluid so he has had a little trouble breathing. They kept him in the hospital for a while but he is doing better so they released him today and he finally got to go home with Mommy and Daddy. I think we are all so excited to see him in his cute new outfits! It was a little strange and surreal to see Megan as a mom. I guess it’s because we have been friends so long and it doesn't seem like we are old and mature enough to have babies yet. But she and Jordon both seemed so happy and excited and it was really great to see them like that. I know they will love that little boy with all they have forever and ever. I am very happy for them and I wish them the best.
